These works were inspired by my own experiences, and the writings of Frithof Schuon, a great philosopher with an encyclopedic knowledge of esoteric and exoteric religious belief systems. Each of which is a confirmation that there is but one Truth with a multiplicity of transmissions.

While reading Schuon's "The Transcendent Unity of Religions", a certain trinity of correlations occurred to me. In the East, the three primary motivating factors are the three kleshas; Desire, Aversion and Ignorance. In western Psychology, the three primary motivating factors are Love, Hate and Shame. It occurred to me that if one let the three primary colors represent the primary motivating factors, an art form,

which I named "Spectrocbromatic Graphic Art" could be used to create abstract objects of meditation.

The logic for assigning these thoughts/ emotions to the colors is as follows. First it should be appreciated that it is not possible to have any emotion without initially having the thought, either consciously or subconsciously, that creates it, thus the pairings. Second, in both Eastern philosophy and Western psychology the three root kleeshas or primary motivating factors are attraction/ love, aversion/ hate and ignorance/wonder- fear. White represents the eternal/oneness. Black represents the temporal/dissidence. Yellow represents attraction/love because it is closest to white. Red represents aversion/hate because it is the hottest color. Blue represents ignorance/wonder-fear because it is the coolest color. After that, with a lrttle reasoning, the rest just falls into place with one important point of clarification based on recent psychological research. When approaching ignorance from a position of attraction/love, the emotion is wonder, when approaching ignorance from a position of aversion/hate, the emotion is fear.

TAO

From the Unity [The Absolute] comes the Duality [the illusion of separation-subject/object] , from the Duality comes the Trinity [the three primary motivating factors] , from the Trinity comes the myriad things [all the thoughts and emotions which comprise our perception of the world].

AUTUMN

I AM BECOME DEATH

The best reason to meditate on death is as an impetus toward concerted effort.

LIFEFORCE

The absolute is continuously reincarnating itself in all forms of life. There is Buddah nature in all things. They are therefore empty of independent nature and are interconnected in the most intimate of ways. If the nature of this interconnectedness is Truely realized, compassion and joy arise spontaneously.

PEACE

Once a monk was meditating when he noticed that it was snowing from a clear blue sky. Just then, the sun glinted off a snowflake in a spectrochromatic manner, right in front of his eye. This caused a cascading train of thought concerning the nature of the Absolute, the perfection of creation and the futility of worry.

DAWN

Samadi Prajna. Buddha, Dharma, Sanga, and the myriad things radiating kindness over the entire world.
